Endometriosis: My Silent Companion and a Journey of Hope

Hola I’m Melissa and Endometriosis has been my silent companion for years, shaping my life with pain, uncertainty, and emotional challenges. This condition, which affects 10% of women, can cause infertility, irreversible damage, and turn daily life into a constant struggle.

For me, this battle began in my teenage years, culminating in a complicated surgery that left me without one ovary. Yet, the hardest blow came when I tried to build a family. It was then that the sadness and anger I’d unknowingly been carrying came to the surface. Dreams hurt when they shatter because they are fragile, but dreaming is still necessary.

On this journey, I’ve learned something invaluable: while the body has its wisdom, the soul is even wiser. Today, I don’t see myself as a victim but as someone seeking solutions to improve my quality of life.

I’ve been blessed not to face this fight alone. My family, friends, and especially my parents have been my unwavering pillars of strength. Above all, I’m profoundly grateful to my husband, who has stood by me every step of the way. Thank you for your unconditional support, for allowing us to share the most intimate and challenging moments of our story, and for believing that our experience can help others.

I also want to thank my gynecologist and dear friend, who has been a patient and dedicated guide on this uncertain path. Now, I am preparing to take a new step forward, one that I hope will bring us closer to healing.

After extensive research, I found a specialist in endometriosis who offers a potential solution. The next step is a specialized MRI to assess the severity of the disease and determine the best course of action. Depending on the results, surgery may be necessary to remove the endometriosis lesions.

If everything goes well, we dream of trying again through fertility treatments. However, this path will not be easy, nor will it be affordable. The medical costs, medications, tests, and travel expenses are significant challenges that we cannot face alone. That’s why I am here, opening my heart and asking for your help. Asking for help has not been easy, but I know that with your support, I can achieve real change.
